It is preferred that applicants have (1) a solid training and broad knowledge in geography or related fields, and (2) experiences in software design, implementation, and/or evaluation.

The Department of Geography at the University of South Carolina is among the strongest and most active geography programs in the country. The GIScience program within the department has long been recognized as one of the top places for GIS/Remote Sensing research and education, with world-renowned faculty members, excellent facilities and technical staff support.
